  1. Mince the garlic and parsley.
  2. Soak the slice bread in milk and drain well.
  3. In a bowl, mix the minced meat with the garlic, parsley, eggs, and soaked bread.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and knead until a homogeneous and consistent dough is obtained.
  5. Form portions of dough with oiled hands to create the meatballs.
  6. Roll the meatballs in flour and shake off the excess.
  7. Chop the onion, leek, and carrot.
  8. Heat a pan with extra virgin olive oil.
  9. Brown the meatballs in the hot oil and set aside.
  10. Sauté the chopped vegetables in the same oil for 10 minutes over medium heat.
  11. Add the tomatoes and sauté for 10 minutes over low heat, adding a little water if necessary.
  12. Pour in the red wine and reduce over high heat.
  13. Add the chicken broth and boil for 5 minutes.
  14. Blend the sauce with an immersion blender until smooth.
  15. Pour the sauce into the pot, adjust salt, and add the meatballs.
  16. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens to your liking.
  17. Serve the meatballs hot, accompanied by french fries.
