Porto-style Francesinha
The iconic Porto sandwich with meat, sausages, melted cheese, and a secret irresistible sauce.

Ingredients
- 200 fillet of beef steak
- 5 to taste Salt
- 2 to taste Pepper
- 200 units linguiça
- 80 slice of Sandwich bread
- 300 slice of sliced cheese
- 50 slice of mortadella
- 50 slice of chorizo
- 250 jar of sauce
Method
- Prepare the beef steak on a cutting board.
- Assemble the base of the francesinha by placing a slice of sandwich bread.
- Place the steak on the bread, along with a slice of cheese, a slice of mortadella, and a slice of chorizo.
- Cover with another slice of sandwich bread to close the sandwich.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add the beef steak.
- Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste and cook on both sides until done.
- Add the linguiças to the pan and cook them alongside the steak.
- Once cooked, set aside the steak and linguiças.
- Place the linguiças on top of the sandwich assembly.
- Cover the sandwich with the remaining cheese slices.
- Bake for 5 minutes until the cheese is completely melted.
- Heat the francesinha sauce in a saucepan until it boils.
- Place the francesinha in a deep plate.
- Pour the boiling sauce over the sandwich and serve with french fries or a fried egg.
